A real cross country flight was a bucket list trip for dad before the big seven-oh. Seb’s reassuring voice over the radio, his ability to spiral down to the deck and dig others out of a tough spot, and his matter-of-fact no-nonsense approach to making reasonable safe moves made it easy for me to feel comfortable leaving pops behind behind when I chose to push forward with my mates. Not only did I feel great knowing dad was in good hands, but at the end of the day dad was often still in the air! Dad had never flown any XC and pretty much each day he bested the prior day and came home with the bar set at 5 hours and 70k.
The XC safari was a fantastic experience, with personalized coaching, fun evenings, great food, and lovely people. I can’t wait to do it again!
